Ticket Information
In the Northeast
corridor, Acela Express, Metroliner, and
Regional fares vary depending on the time
and day of the week you are traveling.
Tickets may be purchased over the phone, on
line, at Amtrak ticket offices, at Quik-Trak
machines, and from your travel agent.
Quik-Trak machines at many stations allow
you to purchase tickets or pick up reserved
tickets with a credit card. Tickets may also
be purchased on board on some trains, when
the ticket office is closed. Photo ID is
required and higher fares apply.
Amtrak Special Fare Programs
Senior Citizens 62
or older receive a 15% discount on most
trains, except weekday Acela Express, sleep
accomodations, and Autotrain.
Children age 2-15
ride half price on most trains when
accompanied by an adult. Excludes weekday
Acela Express. One
child under two rides free.
Active Duty Military, Guard, Reserves,
and Veterans can receive a 15% discount
with purchase of a VA Advantage card. Some
limitations apply. To get the discount,
generally tickets must be purchased at least
three days in advance.

Ticket Information
Purchase your ticket
before boarding trains when a ticket agent
and/or ticket vending machine (TVM) is
available. Tickets are also available
on-board from train personnel. Train
personnel can only accept cash, and a $5
surcharge is applicable if TVMs were
available or ticket offices were open at the
time of boarding at your origin station.
Newark Liberty
International Airport – Tickets to
Newark Liberty International Airport Station
are magnetically encoded to allow passage
through fare gates at the station and
include an airport access fee. Retain your
ticket for passage through the fare gates.
Tickets purchased on-board are not encoded;
see an attendant at the station for access
through the gates.

Monthly Passes –
Good for unlimited trips within the calendar
month; available on 20th of month
prior.
Weekly Passes –
Good for unlimited trips for Saturday
through the following Friday.
10-Trip Tickets
– Good for ten one-way trips and valid for

Bicycle Policy
Collapsible bicycles
are permitted on all NJ TRANSIT Trains at
all times. Standard frame bicycles are only
permitted in accessible cars and are not
permitted on peak period, peak direction
trains (inbound 5:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.;
outbound 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.). The peak
direction is into New York on the morning
and out of New York in the evening. Cyclists
should board the train car at a door with
the international symbol of accessibility
and keep their bicycle in the accessible
area. Only two bicycles can be accommodated
at a time per accessible car. Bicycles will
not be accepted on major holidays.
Princeton Shuttle – Bicycles are not permitted on the
Princeton Shuttle (Dinky) on peak period,
peak direction trains (inbound 5:00 a.m. to
9:30 a.m.; outbound 4:00 p.m. to 7:00
p.m.). The peak direction is into Princeton
in the morning and out of Princeton in the
evening.

Ticket Information
Buy your tickets from
Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) located on
the platforms at each station. Validate your
ticket in Validation Machines before
boarding the light rail cars. Validated
tickets are good for two hours. Tickets
purchased from NJ TRANSIT bus operators and
monthly passes do not need to be validated.
Retain your valid ticket throughout the
entire trip. NJ TRANSIT Fare Enforcement
Officers will make random ticket
inspections. If you do not have a valid
ticket, you will be subject to a warning or
fine.

Transfers
Transferring between
River LINE and NJ TRANSIT Bus – Passengers
may transfer for a $.45 additional fare.
Transfers can be purchased on board buses
and from TVMs.
Transferring from NJ
TRANSIT Rail to River LINE – Passengers who
have a weekly or monthly rail pass may
purchase a $.45 one-way feeder fare from
TVMs.
Bicycle Policy
Bicycles are permitted
onboard at all times. Customers must secure
bicycles on racks located in light rail
cars.

SEPTA R7 provides local
service from Trenton Station to
Philadelphia. SEPTA R3 provides local
service from West Trenton Station to
Philadelphia.
Ticket Information
Purchase your ticket
from a ticket agent or Ticket Vending
Machine. All trips on the SEPTA commuter
rail system can be paid for in cash at the
time of boarding and SEPTA conductors on
board trains will make change. However, a
$2.00 surcharge will apply for tickets
purchased on regional rail trains when the
ticket office is open or a ticket machine is
available at the boarding station.
Peak Fares are required
on trains arriving at 30th Street, Suburban,
or Market East Train Stations, Mondays
through Fridays, between 6:00 AM and 9:30 AM
and departing 30th Street, Suburban, or
Market East Stations between 4:00 PM and
6:30 PM. Off-Peak tickets apply all other
times including Saturdays, Sundays and major
Holidays. All trips on trains between Center
City Stations and the
Airport are considered Peak Hour
travel at all times.
Monthly, weekly, and
ten-trip tickets are available. Special
discounts are available for senior citizens,
children, and families.
Bicycle Policy
Cyclists must occupy
areas designated for wheelchairs. If a
wheelchair passenger is already on-board,
the cyclists must wait for the next train.
On weekdays, no more than two bicycles per
train will be permitted during off-peak
trains (space permitting). Off Peak trains
are indicated in the non-shaded portion of
regional rail schedules. On weekends and
major holidays, no more than five bicycles
will be permitted on each train (space
permitting). Folding bikes are allowed
if these are collapsed and safely stowed.

Capital
Connection
For travel
between Trenton Rail Station and Downtown
Trenton or the State House, look for buses
and bus stops with the Capital logo. For
schedule information, pick up a Capital
Connection timetable, which highlights all
601, 606, 608, and 609 buses that connect
Trenton Rail Station with Downtown Trenton
and the State House.
Bicycle Policy
NJ TRANSIT buses in
Mercer and southern NJ are equipped with
front bicycle racks. Bicycles are permitted
at all times. For safety, notify the
operator before loading or unloading your
bicycle and load from the curb, not the
street.

Routes pick up in Princeton, Plainsboro,

Access Link -
Access Link is NJ TRANSIT's paratransit
service required by the Americans with
Disabilities Act of 1990. Access Link
provides paratransit service comparable to
the local bus service. This service is
specifically for people whose disability
prevents them from using the local fixed
route bus service. Origin and destination of
Access Link trips must fall within 3/4 mile
of a local bus route.
Eligibility is
determined using the three categories
provided in the ADA. You may be eligible for
Access Link if:

Because of your
disability you cannot get on or off a bus
or ride in an accessible bus without
assistance.

You have a
disability (or a disability in combination
with environmental barriers) that prevents
you from getting to or from a bus stop.
